Yesterday, a large group of us rented out the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda. It was an incredible experience. For about 50,000 shillings (equivalent of 30USD) we had the stadium all to ourselves for about 2 hours! This world class facility was built by the Chinese in 1992 for a cost of $60 million USD. The record number of people in attendance was 50,000 where the Cranes played the Bafana in October 2004. We had a Canada-Uganda match, where the final score was 4-3 for the canucks! I got the first goal for our team :-)
