The stranded and abandoned Greek Ship, stuck on the southwestern coast of Kish Island, Persian Gulf, Iran, captured 18:35, February 22, 2011.
This Scottish made, Greek captained ship became stranded in the summer of 1966, due to lack of lighthouses in the area, or possible navigational miscalculation. Apparently the decision to abandon the ship was made since the costs of freeing it outweighed the benefits. So since then the ship has continued to corrode and oxidize, all the while becoming a huge local attraction for tourists, and lazy photographers such as myself.
