Karbala Nassrolah Oruji, 65, retiring to his home town of Ali Abad Zebarkhan, 700km north-east of Tehran, July 23, 2009. His village is home to only about 20 families, most of whose children have fled to nearby urbanized cities in search of higher education and jobs. All of Oruji's children have B.A.'s in various fields.
