Yesterday’s image was too political, so I’m countering it with this simplistic colorful representation. This is Blue Mango, a vivid tropical hotel in Kampala, Uganda. The window on the left is my room. Blackouts are common, as electricity is a scarce resource. However, the candle-lit rooms, colorful and degrading architecture, and friendly and approachable staff add a sense of unique identity to the place. Ugandans have a great sense of humor and rich culture. I’m starting to understand why everyone falls in love with Africa.
