This picture was taken atop 'Madinat Jumeirah,' which translates to "City of Jumeirah." It is an Arabian resort with two luxurious hotels, a retail souk, and a meandering waterway which connects the entire 40 acres of visual jewels. In the background, the Burj Al Arab displays a dynamic light show, demanding attention from every corner of the resort. The walksways and restaurants are filled with posh Europeans and extortionately wealthy Arabs. This is the most impressive display of history vs. luxury I have seen yet.
