Ode to the City 2006-11-12

Thanks for alll your comments and critiques in the last few images. The above image was captured a few years ago in my home town, Vancouver, Canada. I've been away from home for almost 8 months now, so feeling a little nostalgic!

Anyway, last night I redesigned my portfolio (New Website) and made it as simple as humanly possible. If you have a few moments, could you please have a look through it and see if there are any errors? (Old Website for reference.) I think the hardest part about creating a professional portfolio is choosing your best images and discarding all the crap. Well through the years I've accumulated quite a bit of crap, but crap that's tied to sentimental value, so it's difficult discerning between successful images, and crap images with sentimental value. So if you could please look through the portfolio, and let me know if any images detract from the overall gallery, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Cheers,

  • Incredible, the lights sparkle and the reflection is magnificent. Nicely composed with the trees on the left.

  • Very good night shot, definitely shows the beauty of the city. The only thing I'm not sure about is that tree on the left, I thinks it imbalances the shot.

Your portfolio looks nice and simple, didn't see any errors. One macro image (with fly on it) seems a bit out of the place. Otherwise, all good.

  • Great shot of one of my favorite cities. I really like the balance between the image and the reflection in the water.

  • I think this would look nicer without the trees on the left. The exposure is just right too.

Love the new look man. Very sleek. And your gallery page is really interesting. My only gripe is its kinda quirky to view image right at the back. Cheers!

Noor, I'm not sure what you mean? The images at the back can be brought forward by clicking on them!
